Latest release: Wigmore Hall Live

·

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of our recent recording of Purcell, Locke and their contemporaries with Sarah Connolly and Rosemary Joshua.

Appearing under the Wigmore Hall’s own label ‘Wigmore Hall Live’, the release is a recording of our 2015 concert entitled ‘Music be the food of love’.

CDs go on pre-release sale at our next Wigmore Hall performance on Wednesday 7 June; an exploration of the musical treasures of Jewish baroque music.

Disc includes:

Locke Suite from The Tempest
Purcell If music be the food of Love; Draw near, you lovers; Oh! the sweet delights of love;
Purcell Music for a while; Oh! fair Cedaria hide those eyes; My dearest, my fairest
Blow Chaconne in G
Purcell O solitute, my sweetest choice; Sweeter than roses
Gibbons Fantasy-Suite in D minor
Purcell One charming night; the plaint; Love, thou at best; Chaconne; they shall be as happy
